Dyson V7 Battery Adapters – Use Other Batteries on Your Dyson
These are for a vacuum, not a power tool. Dyson V7 batteries are expensive relative to the machine and they degrade rather than fail outright, which is what brings most people here.
15 adapters let a V7 run from a cordless tool battery instead. If your Dyson still works and the battery does not, this is the cheaper half of the problem.

Dyson V7 questions
Which Dyson V7 models do these adapters fit?
Every adapter in this collection fits the Dyson V7 range: HH11, SV11, SV37.
Why do some batteries say 18V and others 20V?
They are the same class of battery, measured at two different moments. Five lithium cells in series read about 20V fresh off the charger with nothing drawing from them, and settle to about 18V once a tool is running. A brand that prints 20V is quoting the first figure and one that prints 18V is quoting the second. That is why an adapter between an "18V" platform and a "20V" platform works: there is no conversion to do.
Will this fit my other Dyson batteries?
Only the Dyson V7. The Dyson V10, Dyson V6, Dyson V8 use a different battery socket, so each one needs its own adapter. Check your model number against the list at the top before ordering.
How do I find the right adapter on this page?
Start with your Dyson's model number: type it in the box at the top, or find it in the lists there, to land on the right generation. Then pick the battery you already own. Every adapter on the page is one we make.
Can I use a Dyson V7 battery on another brand’s tool?
Not with an adapter from us. Dyson V7 works as the tool side only here — we make adapters that let other brands’ batteries run Dyson V7 tools, not the reverse.
Can I charge a Dyson V7 battery through the adapter?
No. The adapter carries current from the battery to the tool and does nothing else — there is no charging circuit inside it. Keep charging Dyson V7 batteries on their usual Dyson charger.
Will an adapter damage my Dyson V7 battery or my tool?
Used with undamaged, compatible equipment it is not expected to. Dyson V7 batteries are lithium-ion with their own protection circuit built into the battery, and it keeps doing its job through the adapter. Stop when the tool noticeably slows rather than running the battery flat, and stop using the adapter if it becomes unusually hot or the contacts look damaged.
Does it work with third-party Dyson batteries?
Usually. What matters is the socket, not the badge: if the battery slides onto a Dyson V7 tool and locks the way an original does, the adapter will take it. Aftermarket batteries do vary in moulding, so if yours looks unusual send us a photo and we will check before you order.
